Patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) may be indicated for treatment by anti-reflux surgery. However, antireflux surgery is not a procedure without morbidities and failure. Some authors advocate revisional surgery for the treatment of the recurrent disease. However, others advocate medical treatment only as the failure rate is higher with re-surgery.
- Form a search question: Broad and Narrow?
- Break the question!
- Put 2-3 keywords for each concept.
- Use subject headings for searching each concept.
- Write down the search strategy you have used in a way that makes it possible for any other person to repeat the search you did (mention the databases, search engines, manual search, limitations, Boolean operators ,..... etc).
- Write down the title, first author and year of publication of the first 5 papers you find.
